Property work is linked generally to tax planning or other assets planning. In the Private Client field it generally involves transactions within families – typically, transfers of assets between husband and wife or parents and children. The tax consequences and issues of relinquishing control have to be carefully considered.

Assets will often be freehold or leasehold property, or beneficial interests in such assets. But they may also include shares, various investments, pension rights etc. Anything that has a value can be the subject of property transfer.
