The firm has been in the city of Brighton since 1773 and maintains a strong connection to the local community. Over the years we have supported a number of activities and projects with local schools and charities. All of these have not only benefitted the school children and charities but whatever activity has been undertaken has been a positive experience for our members of staff involved.

As well as the local community work we undertake the firm has also been involved in other national charity events. This has seen a group of female staff jumping out of a perfectly good plane, strapped to a member of a sky diving team, tired legs battling with Ditchling Beacon towards the end of the London to Brighton bike ride and over a number of years a regular team of joggers/walkers have been at Stanmer Park wearing it pink in the annual Race of Life. For the less energetic of the firm we have “dress down” days where the proceeds raised goes to charities.

We also have strong connections with both the local universities of Brighton and Sussex. The firm is the sponsor of the annual Mooting competition between law graduates from both universities.

The firm also has a Training Contract programme which provides the two year practical element of a trainee solicitor’s development before they are fully qualified. Again the recruitment process for the firm looks to take on trainee solicitors who can demonstrate that they have a close connection to the local area of Brighton. Training contracts are at a premium and as a firm we want to support local legal talent.
