A visit to Newhaven Fort starts in the Guard Room. Here you will see the cells where punishment meant bread, water and solitary confinement. Afterwards, take a seat in the theatre, watch a fast-moving 15 minute film -show in which the fort's designer, Major General Sir John Ardagh, explains about the building of the fort and its fascinating history through two world wars. Then start your tour of the exhibitions. |
