The existing basement of
this property in Ewhurst, Surrey varied in depth from
0 to 2.20m.
The existing footings were underpinned to depths of
up to 4m and approximately
300 m³ of spoil was
removed to provide an overall basement depth of 3.50
metres. We then constructed a new slab, which was tied
into new underpinning bays.
All access was through the small doorway shown.
The whole basement was subsequently lined with damp
proofing.
