This rig is generally used on larger sites. It can
bore piles in clay, sandy clays and chalk to diameters
of up to 600 mm and up to 20m deep.
If fill exists or granular materials overlay the cohesive
layer, allowing water to enter the open bore temporary
casing can be positioned to exclude this until the concrete
is poured. The casing (maximum depth 3.50m) is then
removed.
