Hi Claire,
Certainly think phone calls will work better,
followed by a number of face-to-face for more detail / potential solutions for
specific issues.
It is important to include all our stakeholders so
yes to the OEEG and I think Terry Roy at Equal, Thea Allison at BCP, member(s)
of the strategy group and possibly a couple of employers that have engaged
directly with the business should be included.
Following the OEEG yesterday, members requested that
they were given the questions that were to be asked prior to the phone call so
that they could prepare themselves. This is certainly beneficial to all and
they can then make notes on the salient
points beforehand.
A comprehensive assessment of our documents is also
welcomed!
Many thanks,
Karen
Hi Siobhan,
Karen and I are due to meet on the 13th September to
discuss this proposal, however in the interests of speed I wanted to raise
some points now so we can start discussions.
Research Objectives: (Page 3)
Point 1 - It will be difficult to quantify how many
more businesses have been engaged, placement offers have been created since we
started. I do not know how honest people will be.
Point 5 - Please can you amend this point to
something along the lines of would they like to see this coordination work,
i.e. the OEEG, continue in the future? if so would they be interested in
paying a membership fee?
Methodology: (Page 4)
First strand of evaluation - I am not keen on posted questionnaires
with our members, they do not respond very well to electronic requests for
information. Therefore please could you consider telephone interviews, perhaps
a sample number to be worked out between us?
Could we also include some members of the Workforce Development
Strategy Group, perhaps 2 or 3?
Point 1 - On the last point please could you amend it to read - Is
there a need to sustain this service?
That
concludes my observations to date. Obviously the changes to approach will
require different costings.
I
look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks

Dear Claire
Please find attached Brough Dann's proposal for
your evaluation. I'm also posting you a hard copy. Please note
this document contains commercially sensitive information, and I would ask you
not to circulate this to other research organisations. If you need to
write a brief based on this proposal, then we would accept that on this
occasion.
The timescale I have included assumes we would be
able to start initial planning on the project in the next fortnight. I
appreciate this may not be possible! We can correspond about this
further if neccessary. We are going ahead with our VAT registration, so I
have worked the budget to come in at just under £4k once the VAT has been
taken into account.
Please let me know if you would like to discuss
any aspects of the proposal further. My normal working hours are
all day Tuesday & Wednesday and until 2.30pm on other
days.
I look forward to speaking to you
again.
Regards
Siobhan
