A lot can happen in two years. You start a band, you play some gigs, the usual. But in Fell City Girl’s world, things move, well, quicker.
From the word go, things have happened quickly. Following a frantic 2004 - in which the band supported The Zutons, Haven, Jetplane Landing, and Crackout, won the XFM unsigned competition and found time to release a sold out EP on Bleeding Music – 2005 saw Fell City Girl tear out of Oxford to open the Carling Reading and Leeds Festivals, tour the UK with Long-View, release another long-since sold-out 7” single on Nomadic music, and turn scores of A&R men away at their sold out Oxford shows. Oh, and they picked up rave reviews from the BBC, Playlouder, This is Fake DIY and Drowned in Sound, all along the way. Not bad for two years.
Mixing Muse with Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai, their set contains ten seconds of the loudest music you've heard all year, and ten seconds of the quietest.
Fell City Girl have spent the early stages of 2006 in the recording studio. The end result will form their debut single on Lavolta. It's out on May 15th so go find it, it won't let you down.
