LEGAL ACTION OVERVIEW
			Where a debt cannot be recovered within agreed timescales, a Letter before Action can be issued through Lovetts plc (solicitors) and, if appropriate, proceedings can be commenced seamlessly by CPL instructing Lovetts on your behalf. You become a client of Lovetts [there is no annual sign-up charge for this] and they bill you direct under their Standard Terms of Business. The progress of the litigation can be viewed through their online secure website access system and CPL Managers will also continue to monitor all cases and provide you with regular feedback. In the UK you can recover the majority of your costs and disbursements from the debtor when he pays you. You may also be entitled to interest and compensation. Where he doesn’t pay you are liable for all the costs and disbursements. Should an action become defended or a counter-claim be issued our lawyers can guide you through the legal maze and offer practical, subjective advice on your chances of success and any risks that you may run in pursuing a certain course of action. Where a case is successful CPL will charge you commission on the amount recovered - this is not normally recoverable from the debtor. Work is not limited to the English courts; in fact Lovetts can provide services in most countries. Something to bear in mind before pursuing overseas litigation is the stability and efficiency of the legal system in the country concerned.
